Granola Integration
Connect one Granola workspace to import team meeting transcripts and notes.
What the Integration Does
One Kendo Owner or Administrator connects a Granola Enterprise API key to one Kendo team. Granola requires an Enterprise plan and a key created by a workspace admin for whole-team access. Individual reps do not connect their own Granola accounts.
After setup, Kendo imports completed Granola meeting notes automatically and provides:
Full transcript analysis and scorecard scoring
Granola enhanced notes and meeting metadata
Attendee and prospect information
Exact team-member assignment from the Granola note owner's email
A Granola note panel in Call Analytics with an Open in Granola button
Optional historical import for recently generated notes
Important Audio Limitation
Granola currently provides transcripts and notes through its API but does not store or export the original meeting audio or video.
Granola calls in Kendo therefore have complete transcript-based analysis but no Kendo audio player. Use Open in Granola to view the original Granola note.
Prerequisites
Before connecting, confirm all of the following:
Your Granola workspace is on an Enterprise plan with API and webhook access
You are a Granola workspace administrator who can create an Enterprise API key
You are an Owner or Administrator of the destination Kendo team
Granola API access is enabled for every Granola Space whose notes should flow into Kendo
Each rep's Granola account email matches their primary Kendo team email or a linked additional email
Create the Correct Granola Key
- 1. Open the Granola desktop app
- 2. Go to Settings → Connectors → API keys
- 3. Create an Enterprise API key
- 4. Review which Spaces have Granola API access enabled
- 5. Copy the key immediately and keep it private
- Do not use a Personal API key. Kendo validates the key by registering a workspace-scoped webhook and rejects personal keys because they cannot provide reliable whole-team coverage.
Connect Granola to Kendo
- 1. In Kendo, select the destination team
- 2. Open Knowledge → Integrations → Granola
- 3. Paste the Granola Enterprise API key
- 4. Select Connect
- 5. Confirm the status shows Entire workspace and Automatic imports: Enabled
- Kendo encrypts the API key and webhook signing secret before storing them. New Granola note events are signature-verified and queued before processing.
How Team-Member Assignment Works
For every imported note, Kendo reads owner.email from Granola and resolves it against the selected Kendo team's roster:
1. Match the member's primary email
2. If no match exists, match any additional email alias linked to that member
3. If no exact match exists, keep the call visible under the Kendo team owner and mark it as an unmatched Granola owner
Kendo does not guess between similar names and does not attribute every call to the person who connected the integration.
To repair an unmatched owner, add the Granola email as an additional email for the correct member and reassign the existing call if needed. Future calls use the alias automatically.
Historical Import
From the connected Granola integration panel, choose a start date and select Sync now. Kendo queues up to 100 completed notes from that date forward.
Historical sync and automatic webhook delivery are idempotent. A Granola note already imported into Kendo is skipped instead of being scored or billed twice.
Granola only returns notes after both the AI summary and transcript are ready. Notes still processing will be discovered after Granola generates them.
Call Analytics Experience
An imported Granola call shows the normal Kendo report, scorecard, coaching, transcript, participants, and revenue tools.
At the top of Call Analytics, Kendo attempts to load the authenticated Granola note in an embedded panel. The Open in Granola button is always available because browser privacy settings, Granola authentication, or frame restrictions may prevent embedded rendering.
Granola controls access to the destination note. A Kendo user must also have permission in Granola to open it.
Security and Data Handling
Only Kendo team Owners and Administrators can connect, sync, or disconnect the workspace integration
The Granola key and one-time webhook signing secret are envelope-encrypted before Firestore storage
Every webhook is checked using the Standard Webhooks HMAC-SHA256 signature and a five-minute replay window
Kendo treats webhook payloads as notifications only and fetches the actual note using the stored workspace key
Webhook retries and historical syncs use deterministic note identities to prevent duplicate calls
Disconnecting deletes Kendo's credential record and requests deletion of the Granola webhook endpoint
Troubleshooting
Kendo says an Enterprise API key is required: Ask a Granola workspace admin to create an Enterprise key rather than a Personal key. Personal keys cannot provide whole-team coverage.
Some meetings do not import: Confirm the note has a generated transcript and summary, and enable Granola API access on the Space containing the note.
A call is assigned to the team owner: The Granola note owner's email did not match a Kendo member. Add it as an additional member email alias.
The Granola panel is blank: Select Open in Granola and sign in. Granola or the browser may block authenticated content inside an iframe.
There is no audio player: This is expected. Granola does not expose stored audio/video through the integration.
Automatic imports stopped: Open the integration and confirm the key remains valid and Automatic imports shows Enabled. Reconnect if the key was revoked.
Disconnecting
Select Disconnect from the Granola integration panel to stop future imports and remove Kendo's stored Granola credentials.
Previously imported calls and analyses remain in Kendo. Disconnecting Kendo does not delete notes from Granola.
