Roles & Permissions
Understand the different team roles and what each can access.
Available Roles
KendoAI has four permission levels:
Owner - Full control over team settings, billing, and members
Administrator - Can manage members and most team settings (Owner/Administrator share access to admin-only tabs like Paths and Context)
Member - Standard access to training and their own analytics
Viewer - Read-only access to permitted data (not counted as a billed seat)
In addition to these permission levels, members can be tagged with a sales role for reporting and attribution: AE, SDR, BDR, Account Manager, CSM, Sales Manager, and RevOps. Sales roles describe what someone does; they don't change permissions.
Permission Matrix
What each level can do:
Roleplay & Agents - All roles can train; Owners/Administrators manage shared agents
Calls - All roles can upload; Viewers can only see their own calls
Performance - Members see their own performance; Owners/Administrators see all team data
Training Paths - Owner/Administrator only
AI Context - Owner/Administrator only
Scorecards & Integrations - Owner/Administrator manage; others consume
Members - Only Owners and Administrators
Billing - Only Owners
Changing Roles
- Update a member's role:
- 1. Go to Team > Members
- 2. Find the member
- 3. Click the role dropdown
- 4. Select the new role
- 5. Confirm the change
- Changes take effect immediately.
Owner Transfer
Transferring team ownership is not a self-serve action today.
- Only the current Owner can initiate an ownership transfer
- Contact support to transfer ownership to another member
- After transfer, the previous Owner becomes an Administrator
This action cannot be easily undone.
Best Practices
Role assignment tips:
- Limit the number of Owners and Administrators
- Use the Viewer role for stakeholders who just need visibility (Viewers aren't billed as seats)
- Give sales managers the Administrator level if they need team-wide visibility and settings
- Tag members with the right sales role (AE, SDR, etc.) for cleaner reporting
